Tickets for the Cubs’ new patio section in the right-field bleachers range from $125 to $250, according to the team’s website.

Three sections of 50 tickets each will be available, including 18 standing-room tickets in each section. Groups can reserve one, two or all three sections.

The cost will be $125 for silver games, $150 for gold games, $190 for platinum games and $250 for the five marquee games. The price includes beer or non-alcohol drinks and what the Cubs described as “ballpark food.”

The patio replaces the section of premium bleacher box seats that did not sell well in 2011, prompting the redesign of the bleachers.

Wrigleyville.org, a new Web site based in Chicago, launches this week with sections devoted to Wrigleyville restaurants, Wrigleyville bars, Wrigley Field parking, Chicago baseball tickets, and all other things related to the Wrigley neighborhood of Chicago.

Wrigleyville.org is the place for fans to post and review Wrigleyville restaurants and Wrigleyville bars. The site also links to a partner site where fans can swap or sell Chicago baseball tickets to one another without having to deal with ticket scalpers.

Although it has just launched, Wrigleyville.org is already growing by leaps and bounds. The site’s long-term ambition is to become the comprehensive guide for people attending Chicago baseball games, or simply living in the neighborhood. Even longtime Chicago residents may be surprised at the many excellent Wrigleyville restaurants they’ve never visited before. Fans in search of Chicago baseball tickets with the highest reliability will find Wrigleyville.org to be an excellent resource. Once those fans have their tickets in hand, they’ll still want to consult the Web site to find up-to-date information on Wrigley Field parking. After the game, whether Chicago wins or loses, it’ll be time to hit the site to find a good bar nearby; and the Web site reviews tons of Wrigleyville bars.

Chicago Cubs announce single game ticket purchase options for 2012 season
Tickets may be purchased through the MasterCard Pre-Sale and General On-Sale at Wrigley Field, www.cubs.com or 1-800-THE-CUBS

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today announced details for purchasing single game tickets for the 2012 season. Single game tickets go on sale at the Wrigley Field Box Office Friday, March 9, at 8 a.m. CST. Single game tickets will be available at www.cubs.com two hours later at 10 a.m. Fans interested in purchasing tickets in person at the Wrigley Field Box Office before 10 a.m. on March 9 must participate in a mandatory wristband procedure outlined below.

Fans may once again participate in the MasterCard Pre-Sale prior to the general on-sale date. Starting Wednesday, March 7, at noon, single game tickets will be available at www.cubs.com for a 20 percent premium, or a 15 percent premium for fans using a MasterCard.

“We’re excited to offer our fans a variety of ways to secure their must-have tickets of the 2012 season,” said Colin Faulkner, vice president of ticket sales and service, Chicago Cubs. “Fans may begin purchasing single game tickets as part of the MasterCard Pre-Sale, or secure a wristband to take part in our popular on-sale event at Wrigley Field two hours before online and phone sales begin. Anyone planning to visit us for several games this season will want to consider the currently-available Cubs 6-Game Pack or Cubs 9-Game Pack, featuring tickets to Opening Day and the biggest matchups of the 2012 season.”

MASTERCARD PRE-SALE:
The Cubs will once again offer the MasterCard Pre-Sale on Wednesday, March 7, at noon. Fans can purchase single game tickets in advance of the general on-sale date at a 20 percent premium, or a 15 percent premium for fans using a MasterCard. MasterCard Pre-Sale tickets may be purchased at www.cubs.com.

SINGLE GAME GENERAL ON-SALE:
Single game tickets will be available for purchase Friday, March 9, in the following methods. Please note the mandatory wristband process at the Wrigley Field Box Office:

At the Wrigley Field Box Office: Tickets will go on sale at 8 a.m., and a random wristband system will be used to determine who may purchase tickets at the Wrigley Field Box office before online sales begin. Up to 10,000 wristbands will be available at Wrigley Field on a first-come, first-served basis on Saturday, March 3, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The winning numbers will be chosen two days in advance of the on-sale date so fans can plan to be at Wrigley Field for Friday’s general on-sale event. Winning numbers will be announced on WGN Radio (720 AM) and www.cubs.com on Wednesday, March 7, at 8 a.m. Winners of the wristband drawing will be able to purchase single game tickets in person at Wrigley Field that Friday starting at 8 a.m., two hours before online and phone purchases begin.

The Cubs and WGN Radio will once again host a Single Game Ticket Wristband Sweepstakes. Prizes include autographed memorabilia and game tickets, including a set of tickets to Opening Day. Participants may enter the sweepstakes when picking up their wristbands at Wrigley Field March 3-4. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. WGN Radio will announce winners of the sweepstakes throughout the day March 7-9 and March 12. All winners will be contacted directly by WGN Radio.

There is a limit of one wristband per person. Fans will be required to show two forms of identification when picking up their wristband, one of which needs to be a valid government-issued photo ID. Wristbands must be unaltered, intact and worn until the buyer has made their ticket purchase. The same form of identification used to obtain a wristband must be presented at the time of purchase. Wristbands will only be used at Wrigley Field on Friday, March 9.

Via the Internet: Visitors to www.cubs.com can purchase tickets beginning at 10 a.m. A virtual waiting room will be used for all Internet orders. The virtual waiting room will begin accepting customers Friday, March 9, at 9:30 a.m. At 10 a.m., customers will be selected from the virtual waiting room to begin purchasing tickets. All Internet customers will need a valid Cubs.com account. Customers are recommended to register for an account prior to March 9.

Could Chicago Cubs fans be forced to watch their beloved team from inside enemy confines soon?

That’s the rumor from Wrigleyville as Cubs officials mull whether or not to perform a gut-rehab on the historic field in Lake View during the 2013 season.

Should team brass decide that the time is ripe for — and they secure funds for — a renovation of Wrigley Field, they could move their games across town to U.S. Cellular Field — home of the sometimes-rival Chicago White Sox — sources said. So much for a cross town classic.

Cubs brass deny that plan is on the table.

“You are putting the cart before the horse,” one source said. “There is no done deal,” said another.

Put more succinctly:

“I have never heard of a done deal of moving home games to the ‘Cell,” said Dennis Culloton, a spokesman for the Ricketts family.

Workers at U.S. Cellular tell a different story. They say they are being warned of a much busier 2013 season (as in, prepare for double the games). Bridgeport bar owners tell a similar story.

Again, the Cubs say they haven’t thought that far ahead and that they are working on a plan to secure funds to renovate the stadium ahead of the 99th season there.

The Cubs are in talks with the city of Chicago for a public private partnership that would allow them to renovate the stadium with some tax payer money.

Another plan for the renovation includes asking season ticket holders to purchase personal seat licenses (or PSLs) to help pay for the renovation, much the same way the Chicago Bears financed the renovation of Soldier Field.

But without a winning team, that’s a lot to ask
